Our school is arranged in three Galleries. They are:
About our Galleries:
Teachers in all galleries deliver the relevant differentiated curriculum requirements, National Curriculum (NC) 2015 Year 1 – 6, through an integrated, thematic approach (Thematic Approaches to Learning TAL); providing a meaningful context for the development of the student’s basic skills, knowledge and understanding. Where possible, without becoming contrived, all elements of the curriculum, other than English and Mathematics, will be addressed through the chosen ‘topic’.
The class teachers teach English and Mathematics as discrete subjects.
Specialist teachers will deliver teaching and learning in PE and Sports, and Social Communication and Interaction.
There will be occasions when it is more relevant to teach certain subjects in isolation; for example relationships education.
TAL is taught for 8 – 10 hours a week and will cover the following NC Programmes of Study: Science, Art and Design, PSE, Design and Technology, RE, Geography, History, and Music. Forest School may be included and will run for one term per class.
